Growing a Garden? Keep these basic tips in mind:

  • When building your garden beds, don’t forget to put cardboard, brown paper bags, or feed bags on the bottom.
  • Don’t overwater! Try to water two or three times a week, as water collects in the beds and will stay there for a while. Did it rain? You can skip watering for today, tomorrow, and potentially the day after depending on how much it rained.
  • Weed frequently! Weeds can choke the actual plant and keep it from growing.
  • Consider composting by placing any vegetable waste back in the soil after harvest.
